Apple’s iPhone OS 4.0 announcement delivered plenty of features we expected, and some we didn’t. In fact, it adds 100 new features in total, and they’ll all be in users’ pockets this summer. Developers get 1500(!) new APIs that provide access to parts of the phone they’ve never been able to use before.
Multitasking:
Jobs explained that multitasking took so long because Apple had to do it in a way that wouldn’t crush the iPhone’s performance and battery life. He says they’ve accomplished that goal in iPhone 4.0, and foreground apps shouldn’t be significantly slower when background apps are running.

A new iPod nano with Camera(no pixel specifications were revealed), FM with Live pause functionality, VoiceOver(plays song/artist names to aid navigation without looking at screen), speaker and Pedometer. With the inbuilt camera you can shoot videos and can directly upload to your YouTube account, 15 special live effects are also there to change the look and feel of photos and videos. Other notable feature is the FM Radio with live pause with upto 15 minute of cache storage, you can also tag a song if you want to purchase it later on iTunes.

Apple has recently unveiled a major update of iPhone and iPod Touch Firmware, OS 3.0. The new firmware brings several new features and improvements that fans have been craving for ever since first iPhone release. The new OS 3.0 which is now available is free to download for iPhone users while iPod Touch users have to pay $9.95 to enjoy the upgrade. But don’t worry yet like previous firmware update you can upgrade your iPod Touch firmware to OS 3.0 firmware release for free.

Finally Apple updated both the iMac and the Mac Mini. The Mac Mini in particular was long overdue for a refresh, having relied on the same specs since August 2007.
The updated Mac Mini has new default configurations, although the prices remain the same, at $599 for the low-end model and $799 for the step-up version. The $599 system gets a new 2GHz Core 2 Duo processor, the same 1GB of RAM, and a larger 120GB hard drive. The $799 model also retains its 2GB of RAM and the same 2.0GHz Core 2 Duo chip, but with a larger 320GB hard drive. (more…)
