Gmail Now Has Integrated PowerPoint & Tiff Viewer

Google just added a new feature to everyone’s Gmail accounts that allows you to open PowerPoint files (with the PPT file extension) right there in your email. This isn’t a surprise because it had peaked out about a month ago, but it is nice to finally have it available in my Gmail account.

Now when there is a PowerPoint file attached there will be a new option located between the “View as HTML” and “Download” which says “View as slideshow.” This will open up a new window or tab and immediately show you the PowerPoint presentation. (more…)

Gmail finally lets you insert image in messages

Gmail may be used by millions of people every day. But as we’re constantly reminded, the service is still in beta and lags behind other webmail services in some rather baffling areas. Case in point, up until yesterday there was no simple way to embed an inline image in a Gmail message. But now you can, by enabling the “Inserting images” feature in Gmail Labs. (more…)

Google Gmail Now Allows Users to Undo Sent E-Mail

Google announces a feature that gives users five seconds to “unsend” a message, if they have second thoughts about what they’re sending. The company has been adding functionality to Gmail and Google Apps in order to make them more robust, both to appeal further to the enterprise and to put Google in a better competitive position with regard to Microsoft. Manage several email accounts with Multiple Inboxes 

A couple weeks back Gmail launched Multiple Inboxes, an experimental feature in Gmail Labs that you can use to customize the different “inboxes” you see in one view when you log into Gmail.

Google grinds closer to Chrome release for Mac

Google is coming a bit closer to releasing a working version of its Chrome browser for Mac.

Programmers for the company had been building an engine that could render Web pages, but it only ran within a simple framework called the test shell. Now they’ve begun hooking up the renderer to a full-fledged browser, which among other things can handle multiple tasks at the same time. (more…)
